Buyer Representation

It is essential for you to understand the role Realtors assume. You have a choice. Please know your Realtor ALWAYS represents the seller unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. You must create a written arrangement that states otherwise. This relationship represents the vast majority of the type of work I do. Helping and representing buyers and their best interests, not the sellers.

It’s your choice to decide what you want. Realtors must have you sign this as evidence that these choices have been explained to you. It is a disclosure, not a contract.

You are probably wondering who pays the Buyer’s Representative’s fee. Commissions are paid by the sellers, not you the buyer.

What follows is the disclosure form created by the Vermont Association of Realtors which clarifies the role Realtors can have.
